* Why M Twenty Five? Why would anyone name anything after one of the worst motorways in the UK? The short answer is-we haven't. Other than its a memorable name, it actually represents Matthew 25 from the Bible. Matthew 25 quotes Jesus naming the hungry, the thirsty, the sick, those without clothing and those in prison needing practical help. That is what we aim to do-Provide food, clothing, kindness , sleeping bags, hygiene items etc. Starting small-one person at a time, we aim to grow and do more for more people in need, starting with the homeless.
* Who are M Twenty Five? Currently, 1 man who has had some hard times but after suffering a brain haemorrhage in 2008, came to faith in Jesus Christ and has empathy for the homeless and those in need and wants to do what Jesus did and taught us to do. My name is Mark- I'm nearly 60, have a disability caused by the brain haemorrhage. I'm young at heart, non-judgemental (struggled with alcohol in the past) and I want to help in some small but meaningful way. I'm going to be around Southampton on a Sunday morning and show up if contacted at other times where possible. It might be dry, clean clothes you need, a sandwich and drink, a dry sleeping bag or a chat. I will tailor what I do to your needs if you are struggling and as things progress, hopefully gain volunteers and some financial support to grow and help more people. I work full time but will always respond to emails, messages and voicemails and will arrange to meet you as soon as I am able.
* The dream? Obviously seeing homelessness and poverty eradicated but that's probably too big an ask! So, it would be a safe space for the homeless community to shower, use laundry facilities, decompress, eat and feel a little less lost. I'd also love to be able to have a food bank that doesn't require jumping through hoops to get some food in dignity.
Dignity is what I want to be able to offer to all.
